NALAS is pleased to launch the Youth, Peace & Security (YPS) Local Champions Awards, recognising municipalities that are turning the YPS Agenda into concrete action at the local level.

Implemented within the regional Youth 4 Inclusion, Equality & Trust project, supported by the United Nations Peacebuilding Fund (PBF), the initiative will recognise five municipalities as YPS Local Champions, showcasing inspiring local practices that strengthen youth participation, peaceful and inclusive communities, partnerships and opportunities for young people.

🏆 Municipalities can apply under one of five Champion Awards:

🔹 Youth Voice Champion – for meaningful youth participation in local decision-making and community development
🔹 Safe Communities Champion – for creating safe, inclusive and supportive environments for young people
🔹 Peacebuilding Champion – for strengthening dialogue, social cohesion and peaceful coexistence
🔹 Partnerships Champion – for building strong partnerships with young people and other local stakeholders
🔹 Inclusive Futures Champion – for expanding opportunities and inclusion for young people facing vulnerability or marginalisation

The Call is open to municipalities from the Western Balkans participating in the project. Municipalities from Montenegro are not eligible, as Montenegro is not a participating economy in the project.

Each municipality may submit one application only, presenting an initiative that has already been implemented or is currently under implementation and demonstrates tangible results, meaningful youth involvement and potential for replication.
