NALAS is pleased to announce the Call for Applications for the Covenant of Mayors SEE Green Champions 2026 initiative.

The initiative aims to recognize municipalities across South-East Europe that demonstrate leadership, innovation, and tangible results in advancing climate action and the green transition at the local level.

Building on the successful 2023 Green Champions of the Western Balkans recognition, this edition highlights municipalities that translate environmental commitments into concrete local action, promote community engagement, and contribute to a more sustainable future.

Through this initiative, NALAS seeks to showcase inspiring local practices and encourage peer learning and cooperation among municipalities in the region.

Municipalities are invited to submit initiatives implemented in areas such as:

• Climate mitigation and energy transition
• Circular economy and waste prevention
• Green and inclusive urban development

Selected municipalities will receive regional recognition as Covenant of Mayors SEE Green Champions 2026, and their initiatives will be promoted as good practices across the region.
