  • First Dialogue Platform: Identification of Challenges and Needs for Establishment of Cross-Border ISWM Model in the Adriatic Pilot Region 06.11.2015

    The aims of the meeting are to (1) facilitate the communication and cooperation among impacting and impacted communities in three pilot areas, (2) create an opportunity for municipalities from the selected pilot regions to agree on principles of cooperation, and (3) initiate the process of formulating policy recommendations on ISWM in cross-border areas. The First Dialogue Platform will gather representatives from the Network of Associations of Local Authorities of South-Eastern Europe (NALAS), GIZ, the Standing Working Group for Rural and Regional Development, representatives from nine municipalities/cities and their respective public utilities are invited at the First Dialogue Platform: Slivno and Mljet (Croatia); Neum (Bosnia and Herzegovina); Herceg Novi, Bar and Ulcinj (Montenegro); Shoder, Vau i Dejes and Lezhe (Albania); representatives of participating associations of local authorities, national experts and ministerial representatives.   • Meeting of Energy Efficiency Task Force 21.10.2015

    The Energy Efficiency Task Force Meeting will be focused on applying EU legislation for energy efficiency measures at local level in South-East Europe. It will be held with the kind support of the Association of Kosovo Municipalities, and the expert assistance will be financed by the Austrian Association of Cities and Towns.

    The main aim of the workshop is implementation of the first step of the “Method for Assessing Environmental and Economic Impacts”. The Method itself includes Baseline Analyses focused on Waste Generation and Composition & Waste Management Practices in the coastal area, identification of the Environmental Hotspots and Pollution Agents, as well as the Migration Paths & Migration Drivers. Impact Assessment which includes Priority Waste Streams, assessment of Environmental, Health and Economic Impacts on National and Regional Scale (Transboundary Context) is an integral part of the Method. Mitigation Measures and Integrated Solid Waste Management Model for cross-border coastal area will be result coming out of the baseline and impact assessment.
