  • Kick-off workshop for launching the project “Capacity Development measures for NALAS EU fund raising” 26.10.2016

    Objectives of the workshop: 1) To inform participants about the sub-project objectives, planned results, main activities and framework conditions for implementation of the sub-project (SP);2) To get familiar with up-coming EU calls and respective requirements;3) To validate respective CD priority needs of the NALAS informal network of EU Officers; and4) To prepare SP Operation Plan and the Work Plan for CD measures for prioritising, screening, matching and applying (PSMA) including mobilisation of GIZ resources. The workshop and the project are supported by the GIZ Open Regional Fund Modernisation of Municipal Services.

  • Regional Decentralisation Observatory Workshop 10.10.2016

    Is the South-East Europe Regional Decentralisation Observatory needed? What functions should it perform? What areas should it cover? What kind of data to collect? How to use the data collected? These are some of the questions in focus as part of NALAS efforts in designing the Concept and Methodology for establishment of a Regional Decentralisation Observatory. At the first workshop, organised in Skopje on 12 and 13 October 2016 representatives of local governments, Local Government Associations and national institutions will meet to discuss these issues and elaborate the basic idea for the observatory.

  • Conference Public Governance as the foundation of European Integration 02.06.2016

    Introduction „Fundamentals first“ is the new approach of the European Commission which ensures a stronger focus on addressing fundamental reforms early in the enlargement process.1 These include the three pillars „rule of law“, „economic governance“ and „public administration reform (PAR)“. PAR is no specific negotiation chapter but nevertheless has to be seen as horizontal priority of a successful accession process. Transparency, accountability, effectiveness and quality of the public administration and services need to be increased also among EU Member States. Manifold institutions and activities in the Danube Region and Western Balkans deal with these key issues and a knowledge exchange on PAR and Good Governance between them should be started.   • Third NALAS Summer School on Local Governance and Intergovernmental Fiscal Relations 02.06.2016

    The third NALAS Summer School on Local Governance and Intergovernmental Fiscal Relations will focus on Improvement of Multi-annual and Investment Budgeting in SEE with a sub-focus on the Municipal Finance Self-Assessment. NALAS Summer School is an event created to deepen the analytical skills of municipal finance experts and stakeholders from South East Europe, especially the members of the NALAS Task Force on Fiscal Decentralisation.   • Final Conference of the SWMRCA Project 20.05.2016
