  • MARUF 2021 -Cities Developing Solutions: Re-Think, Co-Act 26.09.2021

    maruf MARMARA URBAN FORUM WILL BE HELD ONLINE ON 1-3 OCTOBER 2021 The second Marmara Urban Forum (MARUF), organized by Marmara Municipalities Union, will be held online on 1-3 October 2021 on the theme of “Cities Developing Solutions: Re-Think, Co-Act” by recognizing the necessity of reconsidering established urban policies and solutions in the light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Registration is now open, and participation is free of charge! MARUF strives for not only discussing the challenges that cities face but also seeking solutions to them and multiplying good practices at the global scale. Different types of online events such as talks, networking events, webinars, workshops, roundtable meetings, training sessions will be organized at MARUF21.   • DeLoG Annual Meeting 2021 07.09.2021

    DELOG The Development Partners Network on Decentralisation & Local Governance (DeLoG) will open this year’s Annual Meeting on Inclusive and Resilient Decentralisation and Local Governance Reforms and Institutions with a High-Level Policy Dialogue open to the public.Over the last few years, and especially since the outbreak of COVID-19, the environment and the global agendas on DLG have changed and adapted. DLG approaches are under pressure from social, economic, ecological and political challenges. The provision of equal and secure access to public services is a core responsibility of Local and Regional Governments (LRGs). Clearly defined functions and mandates as well as access to finance are necessary prerequisites to enable LRGs to fully meet their responsibilities.This High-Level Opening event sets the scene for this year’s DeLoG Annual Meeting by providing room for policy dialogue among members and partners to exchange on their strategic shifts and priorities.

  • Kick-off the #EUforMunicipalities project in Albania 10.06.2021

    NALAS will kick-off the #EUforMunicipalities project in Albania funded by the European Union. This project will foster the development potential of municipalities and improve the socio-economic and environmental conditions of local communities in Albania. It will do so through direct grant support and local communities empowerment, enhancing the municipalities’ contribution to the country’s EU integration process. The kick-off meeting will include representatives of the project partners, the EU Delegation and the Ministry of Interior and the Agency for the Support of Local Self-Government. The #EUforMunicipalities project in Albania is implemented by NALAS, in partnership with Co-PLAN, Institute for Habitat Development, ECO-P, Eco Partners for Sustainable Development, the Albanian Association of Municipalities, and the Association of Local Autonomy of Albania.
