From 1 to 6 June 2025, in Vlore, Albania, NALAS successfully concluded its second intensive training program on EU Fundraising and Project Development. Organised under the Regional Capacity Development Network for Water and Sanitation Services (RCDN), the event brought together representatives from RCDN partner Local Government Associations (LGAs) and Associations of Public Utility Companies (APUCs).
This hands-on training aimed to strengthen participants’ ability to secure EU funding and develop high-quality project proposals that can make a real difference in their communities.
Over five dynamic days, participants explored a range of key topics:
- Navigating EU funding opportunities
- Common pitfalls in project preparation
- Project Cycle Management
- Developing a Logical Framework Matrix
- Writing compelling project proposals
Through interactive group work and real-world exercises, participants applied theory to practice—refining their skills in problem analysis, setting clear objectives, and drafting effective project ideas. The result? Three solid draft project proposals targeting improvements in the water and sanitation sector.
Feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Participants praised the training’s interactive approach, practical relevance, and the expertise of trainers Ms. Vanja Starovlah and Mr. Darko Mrvaljević. The program stood out for turning abstract ideas into actionable, fundable projects.
Building on this success, NALAS will continue to offer tailored support to RCDN partner associations. Follow-up mentoring is in the works to assist teams as they finalise and submit their EU project proposals.
