Some 130 participants, mayors of municipalities and the respective Chairs of municipal councils, gathered in Tirana on 28 September at the Seminar “Strengthening the capacities and the cooperation of local elected representatives in Albania”, organized by NALAS and the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe. They underlined the importance of a continued dialogue and positive climate of cooperation. Congress President Keith Whitmore welcomed the decision to join forces in an inclusive and transparent manner towards “a concrete proposal for a unified voice of the mayors of Albania” – as declared in the final statement of this Seminar. The Congress has offered its support for concrete action to improve the dialogue between elected representatives, in particular in the framework of a unified association.
